On 2 September (Sun), “Fukushima Big Scrum 2018” was held at J-Village and the mascots for Tokyo 2020 “Miraitowa” (for Olympic games) and “Someity” (for Paralympic games) made their debut appearance in Fukushima as they publicised for the Tokyo Olympic games!

As the mascots made their appearance on stage, the audience cheered and clapped enthusiastically! After the introduction of “Miraitowa” and “Someity”, there was a handshake and photograph session with children with beaming smiles.

In addition, there was a publicity booth set up at the venue where the uniform with the autograph of Japan’s Baseball/ Softball National Coach was displayed. There were also booths where children could have fun and try out strikeout and speed throwing.

In 2020, the opening match for Tokyo Olympics Baseball/ Softball will be held at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium. There will be special focus on the softball match which will be the opening game for Olympics. In addition, the torch relay will also begin from Fukushima. Fukushima is indeed the starting place for the Olympics!

Please give your warmest support to “Miraitowa” and “Someity” who will be actively promoting Tokyo 2020 and the competition events at Fukushima!
