Keeping in the spirit of the Reconstruction Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch relay concept “Hope Lights Our Way”, the “Flame of Recovery” exhibition was held as part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch relay.

Marking the 10th year since the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Olympic flame by the rays of the sun in Greece was on display from March 20th – March 25th, 2020 for the disaster victims who have been working hard towards recovery. It was held ahead of the Olympic Torch Relay and displayed in Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima Prefecture for two days each.

The“Flame of Recovery” In Fukushima Prefecture exhibition was displayed at Fukushima City and Iwaki City on March 24th and 25th respectively. About 3,000 people came to see the exhibition displayed at Fukushima Station’s east square in Fukushima city, and about 3,600 people came to see the exhibition at Aquamarine Park in Iwaki City.
